Abu Dhabi: An young Emirati man, who was arrested for killing 3 members of his family in Al Ain, had served 10 years in prison for another crime and was pardoned during Eid Al Fitr.
The suspect shot dead his two brothers and mother during dinner on Sunday, Musallam Al See’ari a relative of the victims, said in an interview with Dubai TV.
“The suspect is a drugs addict with a criminal record who was released from the prison just four months ago. He is not normal person. He is psycho and takes drugs.”
“It is a tragic incident. The killer has a criminal record and is mentally ill,” he added.
“I advise everyone who suspect a family member is on drugs to report it,” Al See’ari said.
The bodies were examined at the forensic department and all procedures have been completed for the burial of the victims in Al Yaher Cemetery in Al Ain.
The defendant was arrested by Abu Dhabi Police and the case has been referred to the Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution.
Such incidents are extremely rare in the UAE as possession of weapons and firearms is tightly controlled.
